Shaw Theatres is the oldest cinema operator in Singapore with seven cinemas located island-wide. Shaw Theatres opened its first movie theatre in 1936 and has since been known as a household and modern cinema chain with many “firsts”, such as the most number of 3D digital halls launched in one location and the pioneer of digital RealD 3D technology in its premium halls, Shaw Theatres premiere. Today, Shaw Theatres is famous for being Singapore’s one and only cinema operator equipped with IMAX’s Digital Theatre Systems, and the biggest distributor of worldwide independent, Asian and prestige films in Singapore.
